Since 1987, the Art Gallery of Mississauga has proudly performed its mandate to encourage the development of artists, especially those residing in Mississauga, by displaying the works selected for the Visual Arts Mississauga Annual Juried Show of Fine Arts.
The VAM call for entry is one of the region’s most anticipated events, bringing in hundreds of submissions from working artists across Ontario. It is an annual opportunity to survey a variety of practices by regional artists who range from graduating students to senior members of the visual arts community. This exhibition serves to showcase local artists, as well as foster connections between the Art Gallery of Mississauga, Visual Arts Mississauga, and the Mississauga arts community.
Jurors for this competition are Loop Gallery founder Catherine Beaudette, visual artist Corinne Duchesne and Oakville Galleries Curator of Contemporary Art Marnie Fleming.
The Art Gallery of Mississauga sponsors the People’s Choice Award. Ballots to vote for this award will be available at the opening reception and for the duration of the exhibition.
