Motyka Fine Arts will be featuring new paintings by Stephen Paul Fulton in an exhibition titled, “Leap of Faith”. Stephen Paul Fulton is a local practicing artist. He graduated from Ontario College of Art and Design in 2006 and he currently works in the culture industry. His work is a mixed media process combining collage and paint. Fulton juxtaposes sinister imagery and threatening skies with moments of beauty found only through nature and community. His subject matter draws upon social conventions and hierarchal paradigms such as inequality, waste/over-consumption and social convention. His technique is innovative in a thought provoking way. This contemporary artist has a conscious soul, one that does not forsake the realities of today’s world in his art. He is very much aware of the issues that we deal with in society and the global village at large. Painterly, lush, tonally harmonic and thoughtful, witty and intelligently brought together, Fulton’s pieces are an aesthetic source of delight. The opening reception will be held on March 26 at 7 p.m.
