Limelight Artist Exhibition at Second Cup
The Mississauga Arts Council in partnership with Second Cup are pleased to
present two upcoming Limelight Art Exhibits at the Second Cup located at 4100 Living
Arts Centre Dr. The exhibits will take place in October and November 2013. These
exhibitions are aimed to give public exposure to contemporary youth artists in the
G.T.A. to a wide audience of visitors to the Second Cup space. We seek to create a
diverse and stimulating cultural environment that enriches the lives of the City’s
residents, visitors and employees by integrating art and the residents of Mississauga
and area.
Eligibility
• Original work in any medium, excluding video and sound.
• Work must be smaller than 4ft x 4ft.
• Artist should be emergent, meaning not commercially represented.
• Artist must be between the ages of 12 and 30 years of age, or be senior in
highschool/studying in an undergraduate related program.
• Submitting artists must reside or be working in the greater Mississauga
• Must be able to drop off and pick up works
• Students may submit.
• No fee for submission.
Conditions
• Work must have been produced after January 2011.
• While only digital submissions will be accepted, selected works must be exhibition ready
(framed, mounted where necessary – no loose prints or paper).
• Work submitted should be safe for a public and family space.
• ONLY ACCEPTED ARTISTS WILL BE NOTIFIED.
Guidelines for Submission
• Only digital submissions will be accepted.
• Each artist may submit up to five (5) works.
• Technical Requirements:
• JPG files, 1-4MB in size.
• Filenames must be formatted as follows: ”lastname_imagetitle.jpg.”
• Submissions must be accompanied by separate file containing an image list
including:
• Title of work
• Medium
• Date completed
• Dimensions (in inches)
• Edition (if applicable)
• Submission must include a short artist bio/cv (100 words) and artist statement (500
words) to support works submitted, or artistic practice.

Submissions must be emailed to margbyerley@rogers.com by Friday, September 20th, 2013 at
5pm. Successful applicants will be contacted directly.
